it depends are they on good terms, if do, then easy, just tell him your financial problems and ask if he can help a little
if not on good terms, then I guess it's bit difficult, still, you can try, coz no matter how bad on terms, your father being in hospital is a serious issue, he as your husband can't totally ignore it

Since he's your husband, he also has the responsibility to take care your parent like u too need to take care his. I don't see y can't ask him to help out? Of course he need to be financial ok to support. Just ask for help and take as a loan if he got problem with that to settle your father in 1st. Husband and wife should help each others.
