2-4x=3x^2
3x^2 + 4x - 2 = 0
x=[-4 +- sqrt(16-4(3)(-2)) ]/2(3)
x=[-4 +- sqrt(40)]/6
x=[-4+6.32]/6 or x=[-4-6.32]/6

if by this you mena

2/(x - 4) = 3x
2 = 3x^2 - 12x
3x^2 - 12x - 2 = 0

x = (-b ± sqrt(b^2 - 4ac))/(2a)

x = (-(-12) ± sqrt((-12)^2 - 4(3)(-2)))/(2(3))
x = (12 ± sqrt(144 + 24))/6
x = (12 ± sqrt(168))/6
x = (12 ± sqrt(4 * 42))/6
x = (12 ± 2sqrt(42))/6
x = (1/3)(6 ± sqrt(42))

-----------------------------------------

But if you mean

(2/x) - 4 = 3x
(2/x) = 3x + 4
2 = 3x^2 + 4x
3x^2 + 4x - 2 = 0

x = (-b ± sqrt(b^2 - 4ac))/(2a)

x = (-4 ± sqrt(4^2 - 4(3)(-2)))/(2(3))
x = (-4 ± sqrt(16 + 24))/6
x = (-4 ± sqrt(40))/6
x = (-4 ± sqrt(4 * 10))/6
x = (-4 ± 2sqrt(10))/6
x = (1/3)(-2 ± sqrt(10))

Lol its amazing you are so drunk that you can find your way to Yahoo but not that :P Anyways,

2/x - 4 = 3x
2 - 4x = 3x^2
3x^2 + 4x - 2 = 0

use quad formula to solve for x.
