The conservation of energy is one of the fundamental principles of physics and no violation of this law has been found till date.
It states that, "Ënergy can neither be created or destroyed, but can be changed into different forms".

In other words the total energy of an isolated system remains constant. In a process the energy merely transforms into other type of energies. we see this transformation everyday.

Electric Generator: Mechanical energy to Electrical energy
Electric Motor: Electrical to mechanical energy
Battery: Chemical Energy to Electrical energy
Electric bulb: Electricalenergy to Heat & Light energy

Yes. Even the sun does not create energy, it merely transforms the energy it gets from all the fission activity happening in its core, and will eventually run out in billions of years. Energy is ever-present in various states and forms.

Yes this is true, so when you read that energy is lost in a system it has simply transformed into an unusable energy within the confines of the system.

Yes. That's basically how it is. Even when vacuum energy manifests as pair production, there's really no violation of the conservation of energy. The uncertainty principle is an information barrier. Energy forms can be destroyed, but energy itself can't be.
