I have lost faith in our current system.
The only hope is to:
1) allow multiple parties
2) term limits
3) no salaries for legislators - the govt only pays for their cost of living
4) government officials get on social security like the rest of us
However most Americans don't want a shake up that big. They're happy being faithful to which ever party is the lesser of two evils in their eyes. All Americans need to demand that politicians do things our way or else they lose their posh jobs.

For the most part yes. The fact that the borders haven't been better maintained for the last 30 years and especially now should show even the slowest or brainwashed citizen that they do in fact care more for their political careers then they do the safety of the people. For a long time it's been what's in it for me? Not how can I serve the people of this nation better. But it's our fault folks, in our complacency and lack of interest in who's running the show we have allowed this monster to grow. It's not about democrat or republican they all are in love with themselves and big government. And no at this point I have no clue as to how it can be fixed. Just gonna ride it out and hope they don't take my tv away or my pc when they outlaw free speech to protect us better.

Both Parties are greedy selfish bast*rds who care, foremost, about their own personal power and wealth and, secondarily, about their political party’s power and wealth. The welfare of America and Americans is not what they base any policy decisions on.
The ‘war on terror’ or whatever you want to call was being fought in Afghanistan against OBL and AQ. Both Parties are responsible for abandoning that for the fool’s chase of a disaster in Iraq, which had absolutely nothing to do with 9/11, AQ, OBL, or any terrorist activity.
As a result, we are losing on all fronts and still the Parties jockey for political advantage rather than really deal with the problem. If there is a God, it would be best for America, and the world, if he put a pox on both of their d*mn houses.

It seems ALL politician have altimerz right after elections. They forget all their promises. They appear willing to buy your vote with others assets. When they get elected they design what they vote on so that they are unaccountable. Is there any wonder the people are apathedic?
I rarely vote for, Usually voting against. Sorry there is no column for against it appears I'm voting for some one. Can vote 3rd party. Did that once, help put Clinton in.

Just the red side, they have been in power of all three branches of government for 6 years now and what a mess they have made. It seems it would be hard to blame the democrats as they have had very little say in anything for those 6 years.

I have felt this back in the days when Regan was elected.
I thought and still think that was the beginning of the end.

Not me.
I have great faith that the Republicans will always be Republicans, and that the Democrats will always be Democrats, and that the Libertarians will always be the only rational choice for people who understand Freedom and wish for it for their neighbor as much as they wish it for themselves.

I lost faith in 2000 ...either party in power long enough becomes rotten...now it is the republicans...the dems will have their turn...we need term limits and runoff elections to give 3rd parties a chance...we need new ideas.

Mine is gone along time ago. Republicans swept their way into Congress 12 years ago. All they do now is spend money like Democrats, refuse to close the borders, and pander.
