No one really knows the answer to your question.
The odd thing is that we can measure space and time but we don't really know what we are measuring. Calling it space and time or dimensions or whatever doesn't really answer the question.
You could best say that space and time are however you use the words. They are words and have meaning only from how they are used. Consequently that meaning could be different for different people or depending on how you use the words.

There are three dimensions of space and one dimension of time (string theory says space has more dimensions but it hasn't been proven).
To describe the location of something, you, at minimum, need 4 coordinates: It's degree up and down (1), side to side (2), front to back (3) constitute 3 dimensions of space, and you also need time. (3 needed to specify "where" and 1 to specify "when")
Also space and time are not constant and interact with each other (the "space-time continuum"). Going faster in space means you will be going slower in time (the change is so small that it goes unnoticed in everyday activies, though).

space and time are the four dimensions we live in. I'll edit with more info later...
EDIT:
I'll explain what space and time is in a 3D (4D?) computer example.
you have a pixel at 1,1,1,1. This means that the dot is 1 pixel from the left side of the screen, 1 pixel from the top, and 1 pixel from the glass and on the 1st frame of animation. now we have it at 2,2,1,2. This makes is now the second frame and the dot has moved diagonally down-right. Also, we have 2,2,2,2. This means that there is also another dot on frame 2. It's just further away from the glass. I hope this has helped. If not, sorry for wasting your time.

On a coordinate plane, space makes up the first three dimensions, commonly refered to as the X, Y, and Z axis. Time would make up the fourth dimension, although I'm not sure that it fits into the coordinate plane very simply.

Space and time are really the same and both are infinite, that is they have no beginning and no end. They are just like God. They cannot be comprehended by our human minds because our minds are finite, or limited in comprehension . They are like the largest number. we cannot even come close to knowing such a thing because of our limited mental capacity. We were made one step under the angels, thay know the answer to all these questions....KECK

Space and Time are concepts that the human mind forms based on experience with sensory information. They do have a kind of objective existence, but are not exactly what people seem to think that they are.

The medium in which matter and energy exists. They can be thought of as four dimensions. If you want to know where any bit of matter is in the universe you need to know it's 3 spatial coordinates and 1 time cooridinate.
