why is the confederate flag so hated it was in this country long before us why can't people just accept it as part of the history in this country?

Hey there,I'm from the south too,and I'm proud of my rebel heritage also.However it comes from a time when slavery was still practiced by ignorant white people.I have allot of black friends,and I would NEVER think of disrespecting them,or any of my friends.And I certainly don't want to think of myself as being ignorant enough to think of anyone EVER being a slave.I wish slavery never would've happened,but it did.We can't change the past,but we can sure change our ways,and our ways of thinking to the future.For me anyway that's how I look at it. Severely damaged goods. It's a part of our history that represents some very bad actions. It would be like Germans raising the Swastika and saluting it. Bad actions against their own people. Same thing with us. Some things that will never be forgotten.

I don't think they liked it when it was apart of this country.. and americans see it as a glitch in our past... something horrible that shouldn't have ben done in the first place

because the KKK messed it up pretty much back in slavery times . let me ask you . if black people had a flag and used it for hate against your race how would you feel ?

People do not recognize or understand history. It represents slavery to them.
