I have before, and they were both jerks. I know it was probably just them, but still.

Just because they have kids does not necessarily correspond to beign a jerk. There are plenty of jerks without kids too. I'd look for the non-jerks, with or without kids

well, I'm 17, and if there was a guy my age or close to it that had a child, I would only date him if he was involved in the child's life and took responsibility for him/her. For example, both my friend and her bf are 18, but he has a daughter. He adores her and wants to be involved so much more, but the mom moved to New York so the most he gets are pictures. If that were my situation and the guy did that I would still date him.

being a single mum i always thought meeting/dating a single man with a child would be perfect for me - BOY WAS I WRONG!

recently split from my boyfriend (thank god) who had a son the same age as my daughter, all sounded too good to be true but the son was the cause of all of our problems - he did whatever he wanted to do whenever he wanted to do it. my ex never told him off and let him go absolutely wild, which my daughter couldnt quite believe and she was also disgusted and embarassed by them both. when i first had them in my home i was gobsmacked at the behaviour and lack of descipline - knew then i couldnt ever settle down with my ex, who i was very much in love with - it came to an abrupt end when i chucked them out of my home for generally abusing it, gave my ex the choice...me or his son (terrible i know but i tried and tried to make things work - anyone who experienced what i did would do the same i am sure and i am pretty easy going and laid back!) - he still pesters me but while he has his son...no chance (cant imagine another woman will put up with them either) oh well, his loss :-)

Think of them as exess baggage. Not to be hard on kids. Love them dearly but they are the biggest excuses men have for the sh*t they do. Baby mama drama and all that jazz. So trust me if you think you stand a chance and he's serious then go for it, but if you see him hanging around that baby mama too often and telling you its because of the kids or better yet, cant find him and when you do his excuse is he was with the kids and thier mom. Watch yourself. Then you have the ones cancel dates because kid is sick or some sh*t and you find out later that he actually double booked and you got dropped for something better in his book. Be careful when dating men with kids.

well it depends if the guy is really nice and the first reaction or first impression with the child or children.but anyways my daughter has 2 children from her previous marriage and her boyfriend took all them in he loves them more than there own father does. what does that tell you. you never know unless you try.

My guy has children and that was actually a deciding factor for me. I know he's a great father and that translates (usually) into a great man. See how he is with his kids as early as possible... then decide from there.

YES i would, BUT start as you mean to go on & both treat the kid/kids the same, you should be able to tell them if they do something wrong not just him, as long as you stand together & he dosent put them in between you & him, then it should be fine,

Why not? Being a Jerk has nothing to do with having children. first I would make sure they support their children.....I would never go out with a "DEAD BEAT DAD" .
