Go with the flow, if you guys are meant to get back together then you will. Don't try to force anything. In the meantime, be prepared for anything and try not to get your hopes up; that way if things work out you will be happy and if they don't you won't be all that disappointed.

All you can do is tell him how you feel and wait. Two things can happen,
1. He'll realize what he lost and come back or
2. He'll get over you and move on and you will have to do the same
Either way, don't act depressed, desperate, or needy, as this is a major turn off.

i don't think it's best for you to be still friends with him. you must realize that things will never be the same. think of what you are feeling right now and see if you're better having him as just a friend, but don't forget the possibility that you will end up as only friends with him for life. would you like that? think about it.

Just remain good friends. I mean, if it's not mutual, don't pursue it. You'll find an awesome gentleman. Then, perhaps, he'll want you back? (If so, say you just want to be good friends.)
