Depends on the mall, the friends, the girl. Our rule is my daughter has to be 14, during the afternoon on weekends (evenings at the local mall on weekends are no place for anyone to be...crazy stuff going on) and I will stay at the mall, although not with her and her friends. She has to have her cell on her at all times and check in with me every 45 minutes. We have a meeting place and time set up before they head off, but with the understanding we can arrange to stay longer if they want to, and it is ok with the other girl's parents. Solo trips won't be allowed until she is old enough to drive herself and she will still be expected to carry a phone and I will still be calling every so often.

It doesn't really depend on how mature or intelligent the girl is, because if she's with friends she's going to be vapid, giggly and cruel regardless of anything else. I'd say 12 or 13 though. That seems to be a good age for it. I won't mind my daughter being a the mall with her friends without me there at that age(she's only 9 months now).

A reasonable age would be 12 to 15.

I did not let my daughter go to the mall without an adult until she was 16. We had many arguments about this, but she really appreciates the freedoms she has now. She finally understands why I did not let her go before then.
My reward is having my kids tell me I'm a great mom, even when they don't get their way all the time.

Well i really don't know what age to tell. Because where i live your not allowed to go to the mall by yourself until your 17 or 18. Its not my parents rule its the cities rule. So idk what to tell u. Maybe 13 or 14
