It depends on two main factors: money and features. If price is the bottom line, then go with the nano. They're sharp, less expensive, and still play music as well as the regular 5G ipods. If you want to spend some more money and be able to play videos, get a regular ipod. I've had a 30GB ipod for about a year and it's been nothing but great for me. I can practically store my entire library on it (I'm a classical music junkie, so i have TONS of stuff). If you've got the cash and are willing to spend it, the regular ipod is the way to go.

This is really based upon your needs. The iPod Nano has a flash based memory, meaning less moving parts, if any. The iPod Video uses a harddrive. They tend to break down more often than Nanos, but they have alot of memory. So, if you plan to go to running with the iPod video, you would be safer getting with the Nano.
I work for an iPod website, so I will tell you what I have heard the most. The most common problems for the iPod Videos are that the battery while playing video isn't as strong as listening to music. The second is that the harddrive breaks down a bit easy, because of dropping it or the such.
Going with an iPod Nano limits your memory and video, but could be the best choice overrall. But it just depends on what you like more.

so a ways as utilization to observe issues, iPod touch is maximum truthfully the extra helpful selection. it somewhat is 3.5" glass computer screen is pleasing. you won't be in a position to turn it on and rancid on your pocket because of the fact the button is on suitable, not on the front or back. and you will not exchange songs except you bypass away your computer screen on each and all the time, which you mustn't. so a ways as use for the time of excercising, iPod Nano. that's smaller, extra glossy, and does not create a minor bulge on your pocket. although, iPod touch continues to be somewhat small and because you will desire to you will specifically use it for observing video clips and songs to boot as different movies, i'd bypass with the iPod touch. yet iPod Nano isn't a nasty selection the two in case you won't be in a position to cope with to pay for iPod touch or decide on in any different case. wish I helped!

How about not following the crowd, use your own brain and look around. There may be a better player out there for you that you may like better.
