The rest of the world calls us the ugly americans for a reason, many people think that american are spoiled, greedy and over-indulgent. For the most part I would tend to agree, except I would have to add ignorant. I think all countries including the U.S. would agree that Iraq has been fighting since the world began, and that they simply don't have any regards for life. It's a loosing battle trying to change them now...just my opinion.

Not really concerned about how 'the world' views things. Whats important is how we view things.

>>will history books say we killed amy iraqi civillians and our boys and girls for greed of a few<<

No. We had some troops who comitted crimes, and were punished for it.

>>what does rest of the world say about usa in vietnam now that time has passed<<

I dunno about what 'the world' thinks of Vietnam, but here's what I think: we should have finished the job once we comitted, or not gone there to begin with. Did we 'lose' Vietnam? Well, we killed 2 million enemies while suffering less than 60,000 friendly KIA. If thats what you call a "loss".

Viet Nam is a complicated issue and not one that puts the US in a very favorable light.

However, except for a few countries, most of the world sees clearly that the Iraq war was an unprovoked aggression against a sovereign nation in defiance of the international community and the UN.

I think history will regard our effort in Iraq with dismay. We have so little overall plan that you cannot even accuse of acting out of greed. Certainly, the US has gained absolutely nothing of any value from this conflict and aside from being a killing ground Iraq is the world's greatest money pit.

History will not treat us kindly.

Better question:

Who cares what the rest of the world, and liberal Islamo-Fascist apologist, bed wetters like rock-the-vote think of us.

This country has been the greatest source of good that the world has ever seen.

History is written by the victors. The world probably will not view the US favorably, but should we do nothing about nuclear and other proliferation of weapons of mass death?

I hope that the books mention the fact that Iraq started this mess in the first place and we were taking care of business. This was not about greed it was about agression . Unstopable agression.

I think that we are Americans; we have always done what is best for America. We do not need France's approval to do anything. World opinion means nothing.

I don't have to think there are many sources that say that America is imperialistic and bully's. George Bush is the biggest mass murderer since Hitler. Mostly negative from foreign sources.

I personally don't care what the other countries think about us. We are the world's strongest country and most countries side with us on most things (except Communist ran countries). I doubt if the French decided they hated America that it would change the way we run things here.
