I know sometimes the "media" is right, but often they are wrong. People in France get a bad rap in America for many reasons. If you are from France, can you please tell me if Americans are really disliked there or is it a myth. I have been to Paris two times and have found the people there to be nice. I was never treated bad. Have things changed and or we really hated or what?

Hi!

I'm not french, I'm Norvegian but I've lived in France for 5 years.
Let me explain to you; The French do not hate Americas, what they hate is George Bush's politics. As I'm sure you're awared of, french politics are the opposite it Bush's.

But America and France is a lot different and they do think you are a weird kind.... Like the fact that you in the States can bye cheese on a tube.... They find this very, very strange :)

A lot of people get a bad impression of french people when going there. This is because most foreigners go to eather Paris or the southern part of France. I find that the people here are a lot differnet than in other parts of the country. The fact that they don't speak english, makes people think they're arrogant.

I went to college in France and had english classes with the french and I understand that they don't speak english, cause the teacher that's teaching them is so bad in english.....

So what I'm saying is that the frensh don't hate Americans, they are just very proud of their country and language.

I'm a Brit living inFrance since 20 years... As th other guy says, They don't hate Americans, just your present regime, What they DO find bizarre is the country getting all in a tizzy about Janet Jackson's tit or Bill Clintion's *******..In France morality is defined very differently, In all of Europe in fact, (even the UK).Threre's a very deep appreciation of certain elements of U.S, culture i.e. Harleys, rock n'roll. Cowboy hats etc. They DIDN't appreciate American ploiticians stirring up anti French sentiments over the Iraq differences. At least Chirc, who I don't like, had the balls to say no to Bush, unlike puppy dog Blair.

I don't think french people hate Americans, they like to spend money which is good for the french economy, sometimes they are easy to recognize, which can be funny, but they usually are friendly tourists,
Your foreign policy on the other hand is REALLY bad, the US went in a few years, thanks to Bush, from being the "big friendly brother" and admired to very controversial, lots of lies, and very arrogant. But I don't think this is how we view the American people.

Americans should be more respectful when they travel.
they expect people to speak english ( ever thought about learning another language?), they are loud and make fun of other cultures.

So, I think the problem are not french people.
Americans are the problem.
