This may be an extremely stupid and simple question, but what exactly does "remove the middle man" refer to? What is the middle man known as? I know, I know...probably a simple one, but I'm not sure.

to understand first you need to know the business answer. for example a farmer milks the cows, then it goes to be pasteurized and bottled. then it goes to a broker who sells it to stores. now if the guy who bottled it, or even the farmer who milked the cows, sold it directly to the stores you would have cut out the unnecessary middleman. the guy who didn't do anything to produce the milk but makes more than the farmer did in the first place. so now you can understand that anyone in the middle who is unnesseary could be eliminated. like a guy who introduced you to his friend and his friend introduced you to a girl that you should have just went up and talked to in the first place.
