I asked this question earlier, but I wanted to see if anyone else has any experience with this. And I apologize if you've seen this question twice.
Has anyone been so convinced that they were not pregnant and felt crazy for thinking they were... and ended up being pregnant? I mean, having all of the symptoms, with negative pregnancy tests for weeks... and then finding out they were in fact pregnant?

There are a few situations where something like this happens.

(1) pseudocyeisis

The patient is firmly of the belief that they are pregnant. The belly can even swell up as if there is a pregnancy. Negative tests and negative ultrasound and they are not in fact pregnant.

(2) false negative tests

Urine and blood tests are negative and sometimes even an ultrasound could be negative - all if this is early enough.

Usually urine tests are able to detect pregnancy within a week or two and blood tests are able to detect pregnancy within 4-7 days but if the test is done wrong or there is a mix up in the lab or if it is done too early then they can come back negative and then subsequent testing will come back positive and demonstrate the pregnancy.

This has occurred.

yes. I did. I would swear I was pregnant. Felt weird, didn't like foods one day, wanted them the next.....all sorts of things. Kept taking tests, and half of them said no, the other half gave no reading at all. I was on the Depo shot and that had rid me of my period. So I couldn't tell if I was late anymore, or just sick. I needed to go and get my booster shot of Depo soon, so I trusted the tests. Not even a few hours later, I felt horrible. My stomach hurt, I bled a little, turns out I was pregnant, and the shot killed the baby. I should have trusted my feelings and instincts and went to go have a pregnancy test done by the hospital. Even a blood test. to show me. So yeah, its possible to have a false test happen to you multiple times.
