I would think it has alot to do with the gang situation.
I think LA is more heavily populated with the really serious gangs...

LA is known for their gangs... Other then some thoughts.. nobody really puts gangs and Newyork in the same sentence.

I was reading that the crime rate has significantly reclined due to all the new routines introduced by the NYPD since 9/11. Apparently their tactics are really working. Enough to already affect crime rates.

Are you sure it is? Even if it is, it's probably because there is more dramatic poverty in Los Angeles-the biggest contributing factor to crime is poverty, and L.A. has a larger poverty population per capita then New York does.

l.a. is enormously risky. ive in no way been to n.y. before yet l. a. isnt the main secure place to be. venice sea coast is okay in basic terms stay out of long sea coast reason theres extra gang interest there.

Well he is sort of a Republican.

Rudy locked up the bad guys and now they aren't around to mug people.
