If you can't think of good reasons to have and not have a cell phone you've got bigger problems then writing this essay. Just think!! It's an easy one

You obviously need to extend on these, but these will help you get started.

Positives
-Communication
-Some features are handy, such as calendar, calculator, internet, etc...

Negatives
-Costly
-Radiation levels are very dangerous
-Get in the way of some things
-Can lose information
-If you reset your phone, your information might still be on it. If you plan to sell your phone, this could be a problem.

advantages:
can be used in emergencies to contact family/police/911
you can be contacted by others in case of emergency
convenience - you can change plans, you can call and let people know you're going to be late, etc.
you can move (to a different house) or go on vacation and people can still reach you

disadvantages:
you lose some privacy (you can't tell someone "sorry, I was out all day and missed your call)
it can run out of batteries and you have to remember to recharge
if you forget to turn it off, you may get calls at very iconvenient times (movies, dinner, meetings, funerals, church, etc.)
you can lose it
