a working class audience with a dumbed-down line-up, (don't get me wrong, I'm an American, and much of the irreverent comedy is my style) then brainwash them wish biased news reporting. It worked in my mid-sized, working class hometown. The hard-rock morning show host that happened-to-be a conservative republican convinced a whole lot of working class people that they were somehow republicans as well....
Before anyone starts throwing slurs at me, I'm not making any social comments about the working class. It happens to be my own background.

Hey wudbiser, what is my party? Did I say that I belong to one party or the other, or any for that matter? I don't.
You have a point about every network, especially when you take someone like Dan Rather as an example. And my college American Government teacher was the same when she made it obivious that she supported Dukakis over Bush. However, I was in shock the last time I was home at how blunt the bias at Fox was. You might as well call it the down and dirty, do whatever you can to get elected station.

Oh, and why in the H E Doulbe Hockey sticks should I be intimidated by something suck as that. On the contrary, should I not be sad that our government functions in this manner, and that American thinking is such that people like you will actually get on here and taunt me as if this were a soccer game? Are we about ready to have a soccer brawl, or are we trying to take our country into the twenty first century?

yes, fox news was run by top bush sr aide Roger Ailes. Fox News is explicitly republican - rethuglican, really. it's very slick, very targeted to those with little time for research and lots of anger.

i have been surprised to hear right-wing commentary on rock stations in DC, Baltimore, Richmond, and other places on a drive across country. so incongruous. but, like advertising cigarettes to kids, i guess - they want to sell this bunk to the next generation.

as gangster propagandists, the republicans of the 21st century have been amazingly successful.

cnn is not in any way slanted left - i watched wolf blitzer correct pres musharraf of pakistan when mush. said the iraqi war was a mistake!!!!! paula zahn.... oh my god - total bush groupie...howard kurtz - consistenly lies for repubs.

I don't believe Fox is slanted towards Republicans, however they are definitely conservative in their opinions. They have bashed the current administration petty hard over the past years.

As they say " They are fair and balanced " They point out the whole story " not just what the liberal media wants you to hear or know. Some of the stories they point out are buried on page 14 of our paper and don't make the local or national new. There has been a lot of scandal this year in both parties, on Fox you hear it all not just part pf it.

I could go on and point out specifics but I think you have closed you mind to the truth and only want to hear the facts as you want them to be.

So it ok that EVERY other news source is full out leftist and if the republican side wants a news source that leans toward the right it's suddenly wrong? I thought the dems were for freedom of speech. I guess they do but only when it's leftist speech. Ever hear of the fairness doctrine? You libs want to enact the fairness doctrine that would eliminate free speech from the right. More lib double standards.

The few times that I have viewed it elsewhere since I don't have access to Fox news, I didn't see anything "dumbed down" about it.

What makes you people think that watching CNN is "high brow?" Do you honestly think that people would watch something sophisticated on CNN? Most people wouldn't understand it .Further, who isn't "working class?" Anyone who has to "work" for a living is "working class." It sounds to me as if you are talking about blue collar workers.

One, I know many who have at least one, if not several college degrees who watch Fox because of the biased, liberal slant of CNN. Two, by saying that Fox "dumbs down" it's line up to "attract a working lass audience" you are implying that you think either those who work for a living or those who's jobs are considered blue collar are dumb since Fox has to "dumb down" it's offerings to attract them. That is certainly not the case! If, as you say, it is your own background, then I think you should find a way not to be so self -deprecating or ashamed of your heritage. Working class people are far from unintelligent. They know enough to see through this thinly veiled insult.

shock! Headline Fox news is biased to the right? I say that's fair. But if I say cnn abc cbs nbc and a few more are slanted left you all get huffy and wrinkle your nose up. What's fair is fair. Now balanced is a whole other subject.

OK, FOX may slant to the right. But look at the list of news outlets that slant sharply to the left: ABC,CBS,NBC,CNN,MSNBC, New York Times, Washington Post, Time Magazine, Newsweek, on and on. Talk about David and Goliath!
If you don't like FOX, you have many liberal news outlets to choose from. Leave FOX alone.

Look at the big picture...many stations are owned by politically biased individuals.

Its because it is owned by a republican. Republicans use such sly tactics to tell people information. I wonder if anybody ever wonders why, and I can tell you its not because its in the nations best intrest.

Well, since every network station and every other cable news station is left leaning, why are you so worried about ONE single right leaning station. Are you that intimidated despite all the left resources vs the 1 right resource. Says alot about confidence in your party when 1 single station out of 700 can cause you to cringe
