i really need help in exponents and powers what do those letters mean like A M B i really dont know that please help me thank you

I would make sure you set up some time at school for some extra help. I couldn't imagine trying to help with math problems over the internet...too difficult.

if the letters are lower case they are probably a variable. A variable is a letter that represents a number. It is used so that you can figure out what the variable is.
for example:
1 + a = 3
before you freak, think. What plus 1 gives you 3?


if you got 2, then that is what the variable stands for. a = 2

They mean nothing without context. In algebra, letters and symbols are used in place of actual numbers so that expression have general value. By convention, the letters x, y, and z are used for variables (unknown quantities) while other letters are used for constants (known quantities).

An actual problem would help us help you. A M B are only variables, or place holders, that mean nothing without a problem.
