Im taking a history of Women course....I am writing a term paper proposal...
I need to ""discuss Historiography""".. what does that mean?

My topics are Motherhood and homemaking, Family life and experiences in paid workforce. I need to interview my informant on those topics and then write a paper answering a HISTORICAL question?? what is that?
i was thinking something along the lines of....are there any significant differences in the literary sources ( all my books from the library that all talk about family life and women, motherfood, feminism etc) and a personal narrative of an individual (the lady that im going to interview)...please help..what is historiography and how do i deal with it? and whats historical question?

If biography is the story of a life, historiography is the story of history...that is, research, scholarship and reporting of a historical event.
Your historical question might center on your respondant's view of her role and the changing role of women in our culture. Did she work outside the home? If so, did she feel compelled to do so? Or did she do it by choice? Did she feel guilty for leaving her children for others to care for? Did she feel stressed and overworked?
If she was a homemaker, was that the expectation for her generation? Did she feel fulfilled in that role? Or did she wish for a different life? What is her opinion of the way women's roles have changed over time? etc. etc. There's plenty of gold to be mined in this topic!
