sure why not? but you risk losing your best friend if it doesnt work out. Once a relationship changes like that, theres no going back.

I've been married to my best friend for 19 years now. The best relationships start off as friends and grow. The hard part is at the very beginning knowing how you feel but aren't sure if they feel the same way and not wanting to ruin a good friendship. True friends though can talk and work things out. Remember nothing ventured, nothing gained. Don't be left wondering if he is Mr Right. Good luck and enjoy life.

you can fall in love with anyone. best friends sometimes are the best choice. think about it...you already know them, you have been there for each other through thick and thin, you know the bads and the goods and there wont be many, if any, surprises. be sure that you both feel the same way (that he/she is not completely repulsed by you in a physical way) or else you might loose a lover and a best friend.

Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.
You can only fall in love with football players, smooth talkers and rich guys. BEST FRIEND! HA!
Now that my tongue is out of my cheek, I think you have possibly found the truest love there is. If it doesn't seem like love to you, it's probably because the meaning of love has been so distorted by pop culture, which tends to believe along the lines of my first paragraph.
Go for it now, or you might regret it!

hey well i would say , speaking from 23 yrs of experience in being in love with my best friend .. who happens to now be my wife for the last 17 yrs .. what better person to be in love with...should your life long partner not also be your best friend..maybe if there would be a whole lot less divorces if that was the case .. reason why is its easy to forgive and find forgiveness from a best friend because its an unconditional love..
so with that i would say go tell them if they don't know .. you will probably find the feelings are mutual ...good luck..and i hope you find happiness as i have in being someday married to your best friend ...

That's the best person to fall in love with but know for sure if it's really love and not infatuation. If you have things in common other than sex and conversation is good then run with it. Falling in love with your best friend is rare these days.

i think its easier to fall in love with your best friend then anyone else. i dont know if its the smartest thing to act on the feelings though. i had been best friends with this girl for 4 years and had liked her for a long time. she told me she had feelings for me so we went out. after 6 months we broke up and tried to stay friends. now all we do is fight and argue and im really sad we had to ruin our friendship. i still hope me and her will work out one day cause i still love her, but it hurts more to lose someone you lovewhen they are also your best friend so be careful.

I think it can absolutely happen... just be careful, especially if you start dating, because the heartbreak from a breakup is so much worse than just a 'regular' boyfriend. Trust me, I have been there. I won't leave the details here because it would be long, but if you want me to share my experience just send me an email.
Good luck girl :)

That's the best of both worlds. A wonderful friend that you fell in love with. I smell marriage.

I can only speak from experience, and I just married my best friend in March...sometimes they are the one person who knows you the best. Just don't ruin your friendship with the petty stuff that can happen when you start dating
