Me and my friend have a trip planned to go there to visit her daughter. We are staying at the ResortQuest Blue Mesa Lodge. Any thoughts on this establishment I should know? Just wondering what is fun to do there with a tight budget and a 6 yr old and a 11 yr old. Any ideas will be welcome.

Blue Mesa is a long way from Telluride. Blue Mesa is near Gunnison. You can go ice skating for free in Gunnison or if you have to rent skates they are pretty inexpensive. Telluride is great in the winter if you plan on skiing--there isn't a whole lot more to do there in the Winter.

What time of year? it's supposed to be a really nice part of Colorado (though my impression Ive gotten of it is that it's also expensive, though IVe never been). Regardless, you can surely enjoy the outdoor there, it will be great! Have fun!
