I spend a lot of time at night. Playing in the bath, reading stories-always make the most of the weekends. Laundry & dishes can wait but kids grow so fast.

I went back to work right away as I don't have a job where I can just leave that easily and my daughter and I are very close. When you get home make sure your time while she is awake is with you. Do anything with your baby from reading, cuddling, watching tv, playing, etc that you can while they are awake to show your love. When the baby starts to cry be there to pick her up in the night so she can rely on you and build trust there. I also wake up early in the mornings and get ready before my daughter is awake so I can feed her breakfast, say good morning, play etc before I have to rush out the door. If you make time for your baby they will become attached to you. Just love him/her every minute and reinforce it with activities.

Give baby article of clothing that smells like you and record yourself reading stories/books and have them played throughout the day as she feeds or settles for naps.
Make time with her quality time...talk to her during your feedings, massage, smiles... let her associations and encounters with you be meaningful

Make a special time for you and him/her by attending a class together, or possibly a library storytime!
