a360ndycooper has it right: by definition, the leader of Christianity is the Christ (also known as the Messiah).
Christian mythology defines Jesus as the Christ/Messiah (the Bible is filled with text supporting this assertion; the "Four Gospels" (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John; the first 4 books of the New Testament) offer a host of supporting verses.
In lay terms, "Christ" is the Greek work for the Hebrew term "Messiah:" each means "the annointed One," though that translation utterly fails to indicate the specificity of the term. There is only one (and there can never be any other) Christ/Messiah.
Christianity refers to the religion of Jesus' followers notable for their duplication of His lifestyle. The term "Christian" was first used at Antioch (Acts 11:26), and was originally intended as a slur (the equivalent of "honky" or "kike").
"Christian" literally means "Christ-ones" ("those who are behaviorally indistinguishable from Christ"). It doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand why believers adopted this name as a badge of honor.
Genuine Christianity is exceedingly rare in the world. It is anathema to organized religions having usurped the jargon, texts and other material indices of Christianity. It is therefore neither practiced nor promoted by any mainstream religion or sect.
Unfortunately, recognizing the hypocrisy and lies of organized religion is only part of a much greater puzzle. To be a Christian is to be an ambassador of (the Author of) Life; it is to appreciate the splendor of nature and especially the human creature.
This forum is inadequate to explore the fullness of the wonder of being or becoming a Christian, so I can't really offer a great deal of help in describing that. There are universal truths to the faith, but the journey itself is pretty much unique to the individual.
Although genuine Christianity is rare, popular "Christianity" (also known as "Churchianity") is widely recognized and practiced by persons around the world, few of whom realize the futility of their respective belief systems.
Genuine Christianity is not restricted to any location, denomination or sect, and may characterize and include not only persons from "pagan" faiths, but also from atheism.

Christianity does not have a leader. There are hundreds of sects & as many interpretations & views of the scriptures as there are people who read them. It is found mainly in Europe, the Americas, some of Australia & the Phillipines. I have a National Geographic world map in my office that shows where various religions of the world are practiced.
You might start looking at the local library, the best source of info on a report for school.
Good Luck!

Well... Jesus appointed Peter as the leader of the group. Catholics believe that the Pope represents Peter's position now. The Catholics have been around approx. 1300 years before the Protestants even started.

ACCORDING TO THE BIBLE, JESUS IS THE CHIEF CORNERSTONE AND FOUNDATION OF CHRISTIANITY.
ACCORDING TO WIKIPEDIA:
It is the predominant religion in the Americas, Europe, Philippine Islands, Oceania, and large parts of Africa. It is also growing rapidly in Asia, particularly in China and South Korea, and Northern Africa.[4]
