My period is only three days long. The second day is the heaviest. Twice today ( day two ) I have gone to the bathroom and wiped blood. Not a small amount either. When I took the tampon out it was almost dry. I dont understand why. This has never happened and I have been wearing tampons for 15 years. Anyone else had this happen?

Ted: I use playtex or tampax. I refuse to use ob! The thought of sticking something inside myself without an applicator is disgusting!

I'm sorry my body or not blood is gross! You may not think so, but to each his or her own I guess

OK. I am not using tampax this time. I am using playtex. The tampons in question were not "out of place." Please don't lecture me about the use of tampons, I am not a teen using them for the first time.

Hun,i think all of us ladies have had that happen at least once.Possibly you had it positioned just a tad off, therefore the blood went past it.As long as it didnt stain your clothes or cause you any embarassment(Leakage, onto clothing where it is viewable)then i wouldnt worry to much about it.Im sure there isnt anything physically wrong.Sometimes, things of this nature happen, and sometimes there is an explaination sometimes there isnt. There really isnt anyway it could have moved,as i use tampons as well.I agree with you about ob tampons tho. That is quite gross, lol.Anyway,if it didnt harm you in anyway i wouldnt worry about it.If you fear leakage, tomorrow,or your next period you might consider getting some thin pads or pantyliners. That way you wont have a leakage onto your clothing,if it should happen again.Good luck!

Actually non-applicator OB tampons aren't that good, original Tampax tampons seem to be the best. Many of the new brands of tampons have a more silky outer layer, and I have a problem with them not absorbing anything. FYI - Inserting a tampon without an applicator is not disgusting. It is your body, touching it, regardless of whether or not you have your period should not disgust you.

I`ve had that happen, & I couldn`t figure out why. One of my friends suggested it could be because my tampon wasn`t positioned quite right. The tampon I was using was a Tampax, which I found was prone to leaks. I have since switched brands, to Lil-lets, & I`ve noticed these dont leak, as they expand withways, rather than bend like Tampax do. This could be your reason.........

The blood just went down the side of the tampon.
Tampons are considered dangerous (toxic Shock syndrome)
It is best to use pads when u possibly can.
U are lucky to have a period this short, most ladies have 5-7 day periods.

Sure have. Mt periods are always like that. I use the bathroom and the blood comes out when I pee. When I take out the tampon there is hardly any blood. The blood comes out during urination.
