I had the same problem. I clicked through every button on the toolbar, everything in the drop-down menus, learned all the shortcut keys. Sometimes, I'd do the work wrong just so I could figure out how to correct it, or I'd do it a few different ways so I got used to the program. Dorky? Yes. But it really helped me learn the programs inside and out.

Ask if there's any extra work or if you can surf while you wait around for the class to be done. Sometimes teachers will let you do something more entertaining if you consistently prove that you don't need four hours to do an hour of work. Or, hey, see if you can leave early! Works sometimes.

It would be AN HOUR, not and hour. Also if you must use the word wasters.....note that it does not have an i. Waist is the thing you put your belt around. Waste would be when you could be productive with your time but you do nothing.
