I'm sure the face I see in the mirror is not the same face others see.

We don't see with our eyes but with our brains. By it's nature seeing requires all sorts of judgments simply to make sense of the visual field.

I can't stand the way I look but my man says I'm cute. I don't think he's lying, I think his perception is skewed by his emotions - and so is mine. I'd love to see myself as others see me. I wonder what I really look like?

I'd normally take your question very seriously, (it is), but I've had such a trying day all I want to say is I HOPE NOT! Also shadow_dr asked something I've often wondered, & since we've been taught a sunset, fire, etc. is called "red" that's the name we use, but...if we see colours differently, that's a fascinating "scientific" question. The 1st time I saw myself on VIDEO I was amazed at the difference..not backwards!

The face you see in the mirror IS different to the face others see unless your face is totally symetrical.

As far as the face goes it is the same. As far as the physical person no, I can't see the overall effect I have on people.

Yes, that is a good question. Another philosophical question is.....have you ever wondered if people see the same colors as you do? Maybe when I say and see red, you say red and see blue?

Figuratively speaking, what you see and what others see are always of 2 different personalities. Others look at us with their set of eyes and interpret us the way they see us ... and they are usually of different views.

Yeah.... I think we should probably just trust the mirror though, because we're not going to get anything more reliable.

Yes I do because everyone sees everything in a different way.

no.....I have external proof that my face and the mirror are much the same...
if you check my name...."gemelli" means "twin"...
so...I can see another "me" NOT in a mirror and see pretty close to what others see in me...
