it depends,
but you can try to fist do sqrt of 140 000
then divide by 2
and then
substract it from 600
or add it to 600

Most calculators won't do both the + and - together, so i got one better

x = (-b ± sqrt(b^2 - 4ac))/(2a)

x = (-(-600) ± ((-600)^2 - 4(1)c)))/(2(1))
x = (600 ± (360000 - 4c))/2

since we know what "b" and "a" are

-4c + 360000 = 140000
-4c = -220000
c = 55000

so

go to www.quickmath.com, click on Solve under Equations, which you will find to the left of the page, and then type in

x^2 - 600x + 55000 = 0, then click solve and you will get

x = 50(6 ± sqrt(14))

x = 112.917 or 487.083

You have to do it twice: once with the + and again with the - .
