Suppose your friends are presenting a play to raise money. You pay a royalty of $45, scenery and costumes cost $77 dollars, and the programs and other expenses amount to $36. You make $128 selling advertisements. If you can sell 150 tickets, how much should you charge per ticket to make $300?

$2.20 each --- and this is how:

Buddy because you already made $128 selling ads. Leaving a loss of $30. Now you need to make a total $300. To cover the loss of $30 and make $300 - you need to sell you tickets for $2.20 each

Thanks

Cost Items:
Royalty = $45
Scenery & Costimes = $77
Programs & Other Expenses = $36
(TOTAL Cost Items = $158)

Sales Items:
$128
Sale of Tickets (150T)

Assume the Ticket Price be T

Profit = Sales - Expense

$300 = ($128 + 150T) - ($158)

Solving,

150T = $300 - $128 + $158

150T = $330

T = $330/150

T = $2.20

If I figured this right, you are still $30 in the hole after you sell the advertisements so you would have to sell the tickets for $2.20 a peice to make an even $300

simple. here's the steps:

1. add the expenses together with the goal amount. that = x
2. divide x by th amount you can sell. (which is 150)
3. you get a ticket price of:
