I'm writing an essay about three French-speaking musicians. The essay is supposed to have an intro, three body paragraphs and a conclusion. I know what I'm going to write for the three main paragraphs, but I have no clue how I'm going to start the paper off.

If any one is out there, I would greatly appreciate any advice that can be given.

And if it helps at all, here's the list of artists:
Corneille
Jacques Brel
Edith Piaf
Youssou N'Dour
Johnny Halliday
Zachary Richard
Céline Dion

MERCI BEAUCOUP

Some of the world's greatest/most talented/most successful musicians have had the priviledge to speak French as well as (whatever language they sing in) in their lifetime. All of you should recognize some of the names including (only pick 3, otherwise it sounds like you're reaching). So and so has even sung/produced an entire ablum in French. (hopefully anyway and only pick one and try to impress this person upon your audience throughout the speech) - then you have your audience hooked - just sound enthusiastic! Good luck...

Try finding a common thing with the three musicians. That way the intro could be..."Major musicians are using their ability to speak both french and english in their songs." Elaborate on the for a couple of sentences then write a paragraph on each of the three musicians. Finally sum everything up again in the conclusion.

An introduction is supposed to outline your paper, basically the main idea. What you should do is clearly state what the purpose of the paper is and give one sentence or so that outlines each paragraph that you're going to write in the body. The conclusion just sums up what you've written in a clear concise manner.

Start on background first and let you reader know who the person is your writing about. Example Piaf famous French singer. How she rise from an impoveished childhood to world fame, Edith Piaf led a passonate life, marked until the very end by her incandescent talent. An emblematic figure of French music, forty years after her death she still remains a timeless presence. She was knowing as the La Mome "Little sparrow" is France's beloved nickname for Edith Paif. Hope this helps you.IT remind me to play some of Paif music on You tube. Mieux de la chance avec votre essai.

Jacques picks up his instrument and lets the music
fly. The notes fill the air with anticipation. Since I don't know which person plays what instrument substitute
the word instrument for the right one. ( ex: picks up his
horn, guitar, saxophone, etc.) Hope this helps.
