I am 37 weeks pregnant, 5'1 and have gained 30lbs so far. The doc. thinks I am gonna have an 8.5 to 9lb baby. I am carrying him all out front and none on the hips. My height and his size makes me look big. However, I have people (especially my mother in law) tell me all the time..omg your so big! Then my mother in law will point at my stomach to other people and say look at her isnt she so big. I am so sick and tired of hearing it. I mean if you heard this everyday wouldnt it bother you? I dunno Im just ranting but its really getting to me. I just want to say..well Im pregnant so whats your excuse! but I dont because she is my husbands mom and all. But have any of you gone through this? Im just so tired of hearing it!

i carried my twins for 39 weeks. i am 5'7" and started at 130lbs and reached 200lbs and didn't look preg from behind. it was all in the front.
believe me i started hearing the "yoou look like you are about to pop" crap at 6 months.
my husband started having fun with it. with his quick wit, he would come up with comebacks like:
"shh--its her liver, she's an alcoholic."
"man! she's not pregnant! now i am going to have to listen to her compalin about how fat she is for a week. thanks, man."
"you're pregnant??!! when were you going to tell me?"
but, seriously, tell your mother-in-law that you are so sick of people making comments when you go to the grocery, etc. and how it makes you mad and maybe she will get the hint.
good luck, and may your baby be beautiful!

Yes it did bother me.. I was 120 pounds before I was pregnant and riight b4 i had my baby I weighed 175.. So gained like 55 pounds.. And my baby weighed 9 pounds and 3 ounces.. 21 1/2 inches long.. All people did was talk about how big I was and how my baby would be HUGE.. And I hated the most was when I would go to crowded stores like Wal-Mart and put would run into my stomach and apologize like 50 million tymes.. I was annoying and some people asked was I pregnant with twins..
By the way I had schedule a c-section I couldnt push that big baby out.. Lol

properly the guidelines have replaced final 365 days besides, however the the respond is effortless opposition. Goodyear and NASCAR made a deal some back to furnish maximum of tire according to race and Goodyear has been able to grant. On a component observe the communities not purchase the tires from Goodyear. they actually hire the tires from NASCAR for the period of the race weekend. After the race they must return all tires, and could be fined and loose factors in the event that they don't.

My youngest weighed 11 lbs. 8 oz. and was 21 3/4 inches at birth and I was big as house up until the end. But, I didn't have gestational diabetes or high blood pressure and I was a picture of health.

So, let your MIL know how you really feel and stay away from her as much as possible until the birth. Just be blunt with people and remind them that your situation is temporary!

Well, you don't have much time left, and are getting a *little* testy, so any day now you will have a little one, and "war stories" to go along with it.

I think the lack of full night's sleep has more to do with the crankiness in later pregnancy than the hormones themselves.

Sounds like all else is going perfectly. You don't know how lucky you have it. So many women (myself included) got the wonderful pleasure of eclampsia and mag sulfate. May you never have to undergo that.

Rant all you want, that is what we are here for.

I hear you sister!!!!

I am 5'2'' and boy I got the same thing.

You'd think that a woman who actually had children might remember back to her days of feeling insecure, undesirable and fat--UNIVERSAL SYMPTOMS of PREGNANCY--HELLO! Raging hormones, body aches and falling arches and they think it's cute to call people fat.

On the other hand, it may be her a@@-backward way of showing enthusiasm for a new grandchild. Still though, that seems very, very insensitive.

Worst thing for me was a stranger who put her arms around my stomach from behind to feel my baby bump (probably 32 weeks at the time). CREEPY!

Just focus on your wonderful, new baby! When you hold it in your arms all this will seem like ancient history.

I HAVE, BUT I'M NOT PREGNANT. I WENT TO MY PARENTS HOUSE ONE TIME AND WHEN I GOT OUT OF THE CAR MY DAD AND MY BROTHER WERE SITTING ON THE PORCH AND MY DAD SAID REAL LOUD LOOK AT YOUR SISTER, SHE IS GETTING REAL FAT. HE ALWAYS SAYS STUFF LIKE THAT, ABOUT EVERYBODY IN THE FAMILY, AND IT REALLY DEPRESSES YOU. A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO IT BOTHERED ME SO BACK THAT I BECAME BULIMIC AND I HAD STAYED WITH Y PARENTS FOR ABOUT A WEEK, ALL MY DAD SAID TO EVERYONE WAS WOW YOUR SISTER IS LOOKING SO GOOD, WELL WHEN I LEFT, I TOLD MY MOM TO TELL DAD I WAS LOSING WEIGHT B/C I WAS THROWING EVERYTHING UP, AND MY MOM JUST STARED AT ME, I DON'T THINK THAT SHE EVER TOLD HIM, WELL I AM NOT BULIMIC NOW, B/C I DON'T HAVE TO LOOK GOOD FOR MY FATHER, ONLY FOR MYSELF. ANY WAY YOU WILL LOSE SOME OF THE WEIGHT AFTER THE BABY, TRY NOT TO LET IT BOTHER YOU EVEN THOUGH I KNOW THAT IT DOES. YOUR MOTHER IN LAW WILL BE TALKING ABOUT THE BABY SOON, SAYING LOOK AT MY GRANDCHILD AND HOW BEAUTIFUL HE OR SHE IS, AND THE FOCUS WON'T BE ON YOU ANYMORE. BITE YOUR TONGUE JUST A LITTLE LONGER.

At 37 weeks I think you're just tired ---period! Yes, the comments I had with my daughter started when I was about six months ("you're only 6 months...you're never going to go another 3 months!!") and ("I used the wide angle lens to take that picture with you in it!"). I gained about 50 lbs. with my daughter so you're really fine. Just know that in a few short (okay really long) weeks you'll have your baby and those pounds will start melting off and the comments will stop.

My husband's ex wife once told me my belly was so "cute & big." I wanted to scream shut up you cow! I'm nine months and still weight less than you! But I didn't because that would be immanture. :) Just ask your huband to talk with his mother. She probably doesn't mean if offend you. I think some times as people get old there comments come out more and more rude. I know my mom's do!

YES i have gone through that. i was also big i am 5"2 and i gained about 40 lbs. i was 120 before i became pregnant and after i was 160. my daughter now is a year and a half and during that year i only lost 20 lbs so that makes me 140 lbs now and my mother in law always tells me you need to lose weight blah blah blah because all her friends who have daughters and are skinny after giving birth, she would always compare me. but i told her is that my husband loves me and that is what important to me and i always try to wear fancy clothes so that she wouldnt pay attention to my body but on my cloth
