Start out with just "extras" work. Go online and look up casting auditions in your town or next large town nearest you. You won't start out in lead movie role right off, so I wouldn't worry about line memorization right away. Commercials would be a good way to start out as well.

tell them that. also, i guarantee you that if you read somthing out loud for 100 times, and teak a break of about 30 seconds between each time, you should be able to memorize it. reapeat that process too. if you are really slow, do that and take a two hour break in between. im really good at memorization, so i dont have this problem. also, the more you do it, the better you will get at memorization

Start by trying out for community theater in your area or by taking a drama class in school(if you're in school, college course obviously if you're graduated); usually directors will pick someone less experienced for smaller roles like you want. That's why they're the director :)

As a former Arts manager, I would suggest that you get in touch with a local amateur dramatics group and explain your situation. I am positive that you would receive a sympathetic hearing and that they would welcome you with open arms. Check the yellow pages of your phone book, or pop into your local library where the staff will point you in the right direction. Good Luck.

The actors who do the small parts have loads of experience and could quite possibly be cast as main roles themselves. If you want to do it at all, you have to do it big.

I think acting would be very fun like in a horror flim but my problem is I think I would get too nervous and forget my lines.
