Its not that we dont wear socks, its just that many use ankle socks,ie- the socks cant be seen above the shoe level.....

I could wear my sneakers without socks in the winter time. Been wearing my sneakers this way since I was about 12.

almost never,
only when I go surfing with shoes, or when I go racing (with a bike)
my socks get whet and it feels better without socks. But most of the time I wear socks, that is more hygienic
