Well, I'd say strongly influence but it's not foolproof.

The most effective way to influence the sex of a child is with the help of a fertility clinic, but it will require donating sperm and insemination and possibly in-vitro fertilization. The process is called spinning, because they literally spin the sperm donation, which separates the male from the female. I think I saw a 60-Minutes segment that gave the success rate at effective 86% of the time.

If you want to conceive the old fashioned way. For a boy, refrain from sex until the day before ovulation and the day of ovulation. For a girl, have aggressive sex 3 days and 2 days before ovulation but not on or near the day of ovulation. Although ovulation is a bit tricky to predict, the author of the book that explains this claims a success rate higher than 50%.

Also, if the couple is older, conceiving girls is easier than boys for some reason.

no you cannot, but i have several friends and family that know what it is going to be before they even conceive and it has been right every time. they have even found out how much they are going to have and if it will be twins, triplets one etc...
here's how: get a ring that you were all the time (wedding rings work best. if your not married then a ring that some one gave you that means a lot to you)then get a piece of string/ thread. (some people use a necklace)next have your mate/boyfriend take the ring off your finger, then have him put it on the string(whatever you are using). last you hold your arm were your wrist is facing you,so you see it. then have him hold the ring(that is on the string) over your wrist. Wait for about 5-10 seconds and you should see movemeant, move ment is good but pay attention to the way that it moves. (VERY IMPORTANT)if ti goes in a circle that means that you are having twins. if it goes side to side it means a boy , up and down a girl. and you keep going till it stops for a total of 10 sec. then you will know how many your having what sex and in order. for example boy, boy girl, girl, boy, twins(girl,boy) etc.....

I tried the Chinese chart and according to the chart i should have had 2 girls and i had 2 boys and this time it says boy so i am prolly gonna have a girl.. you can't control these things , you are always an "x" chromosome and Daddy has x and y , so it depends on who swims faster that day i guess lol

They say that there is a way to control it. I read that its some Chinese old saying that if you conceive in a certain month that you can have a boy or a girl, but I don't believe that. It's like a conception chart. Just look it up on Yahoo.

No, although I read a book about trying to support the likelihood of one sex or the other by adjusting the acidity or alkalinity of the mother's body, since the male/female sperm thrive in opposing environments. Who knows if it really works though.

Of course it's not true. the only thing that determines the sex of the baby is which sperm get to the egg first.

Well... sort of. You would have to have a doctor separate the male sperm from the female sperm, or abort whatever babies of the non-preferred sex.

A friend of a friend tried this. She told me how much (which I don't recall except it was thousands). And it was guaranteed. LOL. meaning if you tried for a boy and got a girl you can try again as many times as it takes at no cost.
