On October 11, 2006, a plane reportedly pending registration toand being flown by Lidle crashed into a building on New York City's Upper East Side. His death makes him the second Yankees player to die while flying his own plane. Apparently, he lost radio communtication with the tower and had fuel problems. Shortley after about half an hour, at about 2:51 pm, Cory Lidle's plane chased into the 50-story buliding. Pedestrians hoped that it wasn't another terriost attack. But all worries were relieved. But sadder news broke in. New York Police Department reported that they found Cory Lidle's Passport on the sidewalk and a few hours later the confirmed that Cory Lidle was on board of the plane. Shortly after, Cory Lidle was pronounced dead at the scene. NY Yankees mangers, players, fans, and all of the other teammates that worked with Cory Lidle broke into tears when they found out that he was killed. We are sure to be belive that at the beginning of the first game of the NY Yankees Season Opener, there will be a tribute to Cory Lidle and his family. Cory Lidle, March 22nd 1972 - October 11th 2006, WE WILL MISS YOU!!! REST IN PEACE! GO YANKS!!!!!!!!!

He was basically a journeyman pitcher - good enough to be a starter for most of his career, but not a star. Overall, probably a solid #4 starter.
