I am writing a paper and in it, I need to reference number of books, authors, published in USA and in Europe in 2005. The source must be reliable. I did some research, and found few numbers but the source was not that reliable.Thank you.

easy peasy go on GOOGLE not your search bar cause the reasults are unspecific and just go throught like at least 15 of the pages..thats what i did for earth quakes in us and aisa.

Start with the Library of Congress. That will give you at least the numbers for the USA.
Now, the question is are you going to just list the number of new publications or are you also going to include reprints? Do you want the number of copies published or just the number of titles? Are you going to count translated copies as one for each of the languages it is printed in or are you going to count the books a one whole group? This might be a problem with the figures from the EU-best to double check this with how they are counting books published.
