I've had five different signature styles for the last 10 years and did them unintentionally. I wrote a check last week for my bill and the bank put a hold on it until they verified my signature. The bank called and told me that my signature shows different than what they have in file. I couldn't explain it. I've gone throught my important documents and they look like different people signed them. I need to know if other people are experiencing this type of issue.

Do you think the reason is psychological?

Penmanship is a fascinating subject. (Handwriting analysis.) I can have a 100% accurate image of a person through their handwriting. It's certainly true that multiple pesonalities WILL write differently, yet also, over time--your handwriting will change as you go through phases of your life. I recently ran across a journal written when I was about 12 years old; I was stunned at how tiny, & cramped it was--& then got a lot of insight about my life at that time. CRAMPED. DIMINUTIVE. While I think this is natural, the change in our writing over years, I wonder if yours is "changing" more frequently, & if this distresses you. If you can see a "pattern" over time, & be very introspective, you can learn a lot about yourself. It's like recording recurring dreams, & being aware of how they've changed as you change, & often just STOP once you've "found" the message in them, (usually metaphors, symbols), or resolved what your inner self is telling you. In that sense, I suppose it could be considered "psychological" but not necessarily "pathological!" For many years, my penmanship was so horrid I couldn't read it myself. I'd even pay bills by phone rather than try to write cheques. I'd been through a lot of crises, & obsessed with picking up the pieces. Once I realized I couldn't go on like this, & began to think, & act with more clarity & serenity, ZAP. It all came back. This is a very interesting question & I hope you get some valuable answers!

My signature changed a lot over the years. When we were in school, I had this English teacher that made us print instead of write so she could read our essays clearly. Over the years, I printed everything and lost the ability to write. That includes my signature which now resemble more of a scribble of a last name. People say it looks fancy, but if they only knew.

Perhaps, your handwriting has changed due to cramping in your hands due to arthrits or we or more likely we are just in such more of a hurry these days to sign everything.

Guess the reason for the changes in penmanship is due to the artistic abilities of the individual doing the writing or printing. Am I correct? Probably a great imagination too!

This happens to me also, but mine is due to shaking when my blood sugar is low. I also have a friend who has multiple personalities and each one of her personalities has a different writing syle and one of them is left handed instead right like the rest.
