I'm pretty sure it's not coke.

I was once in a beer advertisement and they had a guy whose job it was to mix up what appeared to be 'the perfect beer' with just enough froth on the top and so on. It wasn't beer at all, in fact. (I didn't taste it, though, I was an extra).

They probably just use some harmless white powder substitute. They definitely wouldn't use real coke because they have to shoot those scenes a lot of times! Real coke would kill a guy if you did that. Remember the scene in Scarface...?

I guess that would depend on how serious the actor takes the roll. You know like Tom Hanks and Christian Bale putting on and losing weight for movies. I want to see an actor really "get into character". So, good actors snort coke and the half-assers snort baby laxative.
