Here's a few ways:
24 / 3 - 1 = 7
3 * 4 / 2 + 1 = 7
(4 - 1) * 3 - 2 = 7
(2 - 1) * 3 + 4 = 7

If they have to stay in order, here's a few ways:
(1 - 2) * -3 + 4 = 7
-(1 - 2) * 3 + 4 = 7
(-1 + 2) * 3 + 4 = 7

If you aren't allowed parentheses or leading signs then there are 64 ways to form this equation and none of them equate to 7...
1 * 2 * 3 * 4 = 24
1 * 2 * 3 / 4 = 1 1/2
1 * 2 * 3 + 4 = 10
1 * 2 * 3 - 4 = 2
1 * 2 / 3 * 4 = 2 2/3
1 * 2 / 3 / 4 = 1/6
1 * 2 / 3 + 4 = 4 2/3
1 * 2 / 3 - 4 = -3 1/3
1 * 2 + 3 * 4 = 14
1 * 2 + 3 / 4 = 2 3/4
1 * 2 + 3 + 4 = 9
1 * 2 + 3 - 4 = 1
1 * 2 - 3 * 4 = -10
1 * 2 - 3 / 4 = 1 1/4
1 * 2 - 3 + 4 = 3
1 * 2 - 3 - 4 = -5
1 / 2 * 3 * 4 = 24
1 / 2 * 3 / 4 = 1 1/2
1 / 2 * 3 + 4 = 10
1 / 2 * 3 - 4 = 2
1 / 2 / 3 * 4 = 2/3
1 / 2 / 3 / 4 = 1/24
1 / 2 / 3 + 4 = 4 1/6
1 / 2 / 3 - 4 = -3 5/6
1 / 2 + 3 * 4 = 12 1/2
1 / 2 + 3 / 4 = 1 1/4
1 / 2 + 3 + 4 = 7 1/2
1 / 2 + 3 - 4 = -1/2
1 / 2 - 3 * 4 = -11 1/2
1 / 2 - 3 / 4 = -1/4
1 / 2 - 3 + 4 = 1 1/2
1 / 2 - 3 - 4 = 6 1/2
1 + 2 * 3 * 4 = 25
1 + 2 * 3 / 4 = 2 1/2
1 + 2 * 3 + 4 = 11
1 + 2 * 3 - 4 = 3
1 + 2 / 3 * 4 = 3 2/3
1 + 2 / 3 / 4 = 2 1/6
1 + 2 / 3 + 4 = 5 2/3
1 + 2 / 3 - 4 = -2 1/3
1 + 2 + 3 * 4 = 15
1 + 2 + 3 / 4 = 3 3/4
1 + 2 + 3 + 4 = 10
1 + 2 + 3 - 4 = 2
1 + 2 - 3 * 4 = -9
1 + 2 - 3 / 4 = 2 1/4
1 + 2 - 3 + 4 = 4
1 + 2 - 3 - 4 = -4
1 - 2 * 3 * 4 = -23
1 - 2 * 3 / 4 = -1/2
1 - 2 * 3 + 4 = -1
1 - 2 * 3 - 4 = -9
1 - 2 / 3 * 4 = -1 2/3
1 - 2 / 3 / 4 = -5/6
1 - 2 / 3 + 4 = 4 1/3
1 - 2 / 3 - 4 = -3 2/3
1 - 2 + 3 * 4 = 11
1 - 2 + 3 / 4 = -1/4
1 - 2 + 3 + 4 = 6
1 - 2 + 3 - 4 = -2
1 - 2 - 3 * 4 = -13
1 - 2 - 3 / 4 = -1 3/4
1 - 2 - 3 + 4 = 0
1 - 2 - 3 - 4 = -8

By the way, if you get a chance, I'd like to know what your daughter's teacher gives as the "correct" answer.

The word 'often empty' does not, in all honesty, do it justice; so enable me supply help to available with some mind's eye on *only* how empty the universe is, and *only* how antagonistic the universe is: - The 'liveable' share of the universe (ie, the place we are able to stay) is only a million x 10^-sixty 5 of the universe; this is a million divided by making use of 10 observed by making use of sixty 4 zeros - an excellent determination so small that we've not got a popularity for it! - the generic density of remember for the time of all yet a minute share of the universe is resembling that of 6 specks of airborne dirt and mud in an in any different case empty Grand often happening Station! - Even the 'liveable'' share is often empty area, in that if an atom's nucleus have been to be larger to the dimensions of the solar then the innermost electron shell may be at a distance 4 cases extra away than Pluto, with not something between it and the nucleus! - on earth itself, there are countless billion species of existence, all yet some hundred of which might kill us the two with out postpone or slowly! - And in the overpowering majority of the Universe, we would the two burn, freeze, suffocate or explode interior 5 seconds of exposure! So, a 'loving god' made this place for us, and the 'data for god' is in his creation and all around us!? If it particularly is the excellent data, then he's the two careless, hates us, or undeniable does not exist!
