Greek Empire fell because it was attacked by the militarily superior Romans after the Punic wars
Roman Empire fell because of the corruption of its emperors, decrease in military discipline, and its state of being too large
i credit it largely to corruption- and bad military
sacked by barbarians several times
during Rome's last years it was so corrupted that the status of empereor was continuously auctioned off by armies, and then the winner would be killed by competition, and then auctioned again, and agian, etc.

you may be able to attach many reasons why the empires of the past fell. Niall Ferguson, Harvard Professor, War of the World, stated the four 'E's

Economics ....Ethnic interaction...Essence of the East and the influence of the slow but dominant growth of Eastern civilization and its influences... Empire decay from within (i.e., corruption, stagnation, etc.)

I strongly recommend reading War of the World and anything else you could get your hands on written by Niall Ferguson.

for the same reason that u.s.a. will fall - and the other power whivh will be after her.
every complex company/society etc. is too complex for men to maitain it.
therefore it will destroy itself from within.
many reasons - one result. selfsestroy.
it can be postpone - but not foreever.
see howmany companies were in u.s.a about 100 years ago. and how many remained.
same true for the army and power. not just greek and rome. egypt also...read history!!!
i don't know the relavant links - but sorry, it is right.
people know to organize few people. when it come to big organization - it is just a matter of time till it will collapse for a lack of knowledge and ability to organize complex organizations.
