make a list of all the positive things about a cell.
I'll give you a few:
1. You'll know where I am at, at all times.
2. If you need me to pick up something you can call me.
3. In case of an emergency, I have a phone nearby.
4. It will teach me responsibility and that a cellphone is a privilege not a necessity.
5. Research on the internet the lowest price plans, if shows you are serious about this.
there ya go. And present this in a mature manner. Not "BUT I WANNNNNNT IT!"
They could also be worried about you losing it, or going over the minutes, try a prepaid phone.

You have to tell them scenarios where it is important to have a
cellphone. Okay say you get jumped on your way home from school by 5 kids, and nobody is around to help. Atleast if you had a cell phone, you would get in contact with your parents, and
tell them what hospital you are going to be at.

You should let them know how dangerous these streets are! This ain't the 1950's! What if you are stranded somewhere with no cash, a cell phone would make a world of difference. Remind them of times when you showed yourself to be very responsible! Just be extremely sincere and help out around the house.

1. make up a scenario, for example.
You are at school and your parents where supposed to pick you up but you want to stay at school to do some work. And you stay at school and then they get all angry at u. You tell them that you where going to call them but you didn't have anything to call them with.
2. Do the research. Research some good bargain phones and show them that you are really interested and you will show them how organised you are and they might get you a phone.
3. Ask for one for a christmas or birthday present and say that it is all you want
