There is a rule in the NBA known as "Travelling." This means that a player is given a step and a pivot when he has picked up his dribble. I fear that not too many And 1 players are aware of this rule.

I think if the league(NBA) gave these And 1 guys who can really ball a chance (Baby Shack, Go Get It, Helicopter, AO, and Main Event), They wouldn't be an NBA Star, but more of "6th man" type players. And whoever said that they couldn't school "any" NBA player is not too bright. Take players like Primoz Brezec or some stupid benchwarmers like Darko, And 1 would **** 'em up. and who ever seen an And 1 game in real life? Whoever hasn't is too broad in judging And 1 Talent. Games go for 100 or so and And 1 comes out on top. Shaquille O'Neal said himself that And 1 Player Baby Shack could play in the NBA in one Streetball Episode. And 1 Streetball is not the "bread & butter" of basketball either. People say And 1 is too fakey, but i think it's too good of basketball. When I see Steve Nash throw an alley-oop from damn near full-court, or see Allen Iverson Flop more people, then that'll be the day And 1 will be welcome. Nobody in the NBA, I Bet, couldn't even come close to do a 720 Dunk, or 360 between-the-legs. That's The Air Up There's job for And 1.
Short & Sweet Answer: NBA is about Buckets (Points) and And 1 is about the Crowd (Entertainment).
NBA is about Rules & Structure, and And 1 is about Making-a-fool out of your opponent.
NBA is about working the ball around to an open "Shot", and And 1 is about working it around to an open "Dunk"

Any good player can "ball" against a bunch of no-names and half talents. I've yet to see any And 1 guy except the Professor and Skip To My Lou play defense. Skip is in the NBA.
The And 1 stuff is great, but everytime an NBA players is shown, he does well. Alot of times, though, they only show the And 1 guys doing good against or with the NBA player, not the 10 other times they get schooled. I watched Chris Paul dominate the And 1 players when And 1 came to Greensboro, NC two years ago.

Racism doesn't have anything to do with the And 1 ballers not being in the NBA. Those guys simply aren't that good, especially in a structured game. They're at the level of good, but not elite, D1 players. The moves they do are mostly illegal and aren't effective. Bad attitude is another reason why they don't make it. Take Bad Santa for instance, he got thrown out of Fresno State for robbing someone with a katana/samurai sword

Nah, it's not like that. And 1 players play for entertainment, but like the others said, they don't have the abilities to compete with a good NBA player. I'll admit there might be a couple that are better than some NBA players, but if you put those guys up to a real NBA team like Detroit, Miami, Dallas... They would get schooled pretty badly.

AND1 is the equivalent of the Harlem Globetrotters. All show and no substance. Maybe you can understand that what with your "krazy skillz" and all. Read a little from Bill Cosby and learn the English language.

Well, nba and AND 1 are 2 completely different things. Almost all the sick moves players do in AND 1 are penalties in nba. A player in the nba is expected to kno all his fundalmentals and have speed and j. And 1 only concentrates on sick moves.

No one is racist, the NBA is like 85% black. Its because the AND1 players play very little basketball. All they do is carry, travel and play no D. Anyone in the NBA would be able to stop them. Its hard to say how good hey would be if they had to play basketball by the rules. And they can't shoot.

they are very good at what they do. STREETBALL, not organized ball. Half of their moves they travel double dribble etc etc, they dont fit with organized basketball. only a few has had the patience to make the switch, most of the and 1 team probably dont wanna be in the nba for obviously reasons.

Because the street ball play wouldn't stand a chanche in the NBA...Half the moves they do involve traveling in the NBA.But I have to admit that it is very cool what they do.
