Boots always look great, but they can be expensive. I'm going to be wearing black flats with my costume because I have to wear it to school (darn dress code...), but you can also wear sandals or those lace-up gladiator-type things. Whatever you do, avoid heels. You don't want to be running around trick or treating or whatever and fall and break your neck because your boots go up to your knee and you have 5 inch spike heels. Personal experience...

I was a pirate one year, I wore a big pouffy shirt with a high collar that tied around my neck and had like an ascot, tucked into brown danskin trunks, brown tights an ornate long brown corduroy jacket that looked very pirate like, and high heal pointy toed, knee high ox blood red boots, I wore those boots nearly every day so was used to high heals, I was a cocktail waitress, I could run for the bus in those boots, did my makeup very glamorous with an eyebrow pencil beauty mark on my cheek like Cindy Crawford, and got a pirate hat from a costume shop with a big frilly feather in it and put a big gaudy costume jewelry pin on it, got honorable mention.

black ankle or knee high boots with big metal buckles. if you are a girl, don't wear high heel boots- you will be miserable all night with foot pain and not have a good time!

i (woman) am wearing knee high, black, leather boots.
my twins (boys) are wearing their shoes with theses shoe covers that make them appear to be boots.
unless you want to go barefoot...

i think of they're going to look exceedingly stable with the robe. they are mentioned as dolly footwear. yet be careful, maximum dolly footwear tend to rub and supply you blisters so if i've got been you, carry plasters.
