Electricity is a flow of electrons.

Electrons are excited so that they leave the outer shell of the elements in the wires. The electrons then flow from the highly negative region to the highly positive region. This flow of electrons is electricity.

Hi. A generator works by moving wire through a magnetic field. Pure and simple.
