You can buy T-shirt transfer sheets for Inkjet printers at places like STAPLES, Best Buy and Office Depot... In the section for printer paper and labels.

I don't know what you are talking about when you say " big expensive machines". You know how schools and different teams make their uniforms, and tshirts. Find the store that makes the logos on the clothes. I used one, it was not that expensive - around $15 per shirt

Transfere paper. Usually for computers but if you can't get a computer art shops do the same that can be directly painted on.

DIY.
you can always screenprint your shirts yourself. and its not that expensive either. you can get a screen burned for about 20 dollars, and the ink is about 5 dollars.
There is a lot of set-up time involved though, and you'll most likely need access to a computer.

Buy a photo paper transfer, print your pics to that paper then after that. put it on your shirt then iron it. That's costs less!

You can buy iron-on transfer paper and just print it from your home printer.
Simple as pie and it's not expensive at all.
