my twins didn't even seem to notice when i changed my haircolor or hair styles (which i do often.) even wearing a baseball cap, they still knew me. maybe your mom doesn't see him often enough? my parents live across the country and the kids have only seen them a few times. they don't remember who this sset of grandparents are.
but, a hairstyle? unless it is really unflattering...

My natural hair color is very light brown, and three weeks ago I decided to color it a very dark brown, and my two year old daughter screamed and wouldn't come near me for an hour. And you have to understand that this child and I are very close, but she had never seen me with my hair any other way, and she didn't think I was her Mommy! My husband kept saying "Look, it's mommy" and she would cry louder! I finally loured her in with a lollipop, and she has been fine ever since!

why women...dont want answers from any men...dont be so thick...anyways...yes its possible...i went through that with my youngest son...i was a detective for years...and he was used to my beard and mustache...the first time i shaved them off to go to an academy graduation for a friend of mine...he cried for daddy the whole way there...and i was driving...lol...remember young children have not developed communications and learn from what they see or hear...when you say no it is the actions and tone that they relate to...not the words as much...

How old is he? How often is your mother in his life?
How different does she look? Did she have long, light hair then cut it short and dyed it black? If so, YES it is possible.
