In 15 seasons Ron Santo was an All Star 9 times and won 5 Gold Gloves at 3rd base. He had a career batting average of .277 and finished in the top 10 in slugging percentage 8 times. He also led the league in on-base-percentage 3 times. There are players with less impressive numbers who are already in the Hall of Fame, so yes, I think he belongs.

sure he could desire to. He became the greatest third baseman for the period of the Sixties in the NL. He has stats resembling B Robby over the comparable time, and became the anchor of an extremely stable infield on the time, (Beckett, Kessinger and Banks). third basemen consistently have a harder time making the hall than maximum different positions. one element that rreally injury Santo became that he ignored the super HR explosion that hit baseball in the Nineteen Eighties and ninety, and Mike Schmidt positioned up such numbers for a three bagger that every physique have been given lost in the shuffle. Im afraid that Ron wont get in and he and Gil Hodges may be the suited to not be in there. Its a shame, yet till the vetrens committee or old timers comittee or despite wakes up, it dont look stable for that old Cub.

Absolutely! His stats are worthy of the HOF. I don't understand why the veterans committee hasn't voted him in. There are a good number of players that belong in the hall and it's high time baseball got off their collective @$$es and revamped their format.

A fine player, but I think he falls just short for HOF standards.
