In older men, the prostate sometimes enlarges and reduces the size of the urethra. This is called Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy.

The prostate keeps growing all through life. In some men, it grows faster than in others. When it gets big enough to start interfering with the flow of urine, then there is a problem!

It is not wise to use saw palmetto for this problem. Saw palmetto works for about two weeks, and then stops working. It also raises cholesterol levels significantly.
