That is certainly a fantastic time to visit Disney World...all of the parks and Disney hotels will have their Christmas decorations up, the crowds will most likely be small (it gets more crowded the closer you get to Christmas, then forget about it until after New Year's Day heheh... One person mentioned the Grand Floridian's decorations (saw them myself 2 years ago...the lobby is definitely a "must see"), but from what I understand, the other Disney "deluxe" hotels (Fort Wilderness Lodge, Animal Kingdom lodge, Yacht Club, Polynesian, to name a few) all have special Christmas "displays" of some sort, so be sure to drop by if you have the time.
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas party (you'll have to buy separate tickets to go to that...I believe it runs on select nights from 6pm until 11pm or midnight) is awesome...there's only a "limited" number of tickets sold, so crowds will not be a problem, most if not all of the rides and attractions are usually open, and the parade/special fireworks at the event are truely "magical"...even more spectacular then the regular daily/nightly parades and fireworks displays.

This is one of the least busiest times of the year, but the most fun! I am going next December and have been in the past.
There will be Christmas Descorations and parties! Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party and Parade. At Epcot, they do Holiday's Around the World. And there is some sort of Osborne Family Festival at MGM Studios. As well as other events at each of the parks and resorts. Check out www.disneyworld.com and they will give you a calendar of events. Or go to the bookstore and read or buy Birnbaum's Official Guide to Disney World 2006.
The weather will probably be in the 70's, but can get cool at night. So take a sweatshirt and maybe some jeans. I wore capri's and shorts when I was there in February. The weather is similar.
Have a great time!

You can check out current events and attraction information at www.disneyworld.com
As far as I know, the only thing that will be going on at that time is the new celebration: A year of a Million Dreams. Each day, several guests will be selected to win amazing Disney prizes! There will be new parades, shows, and of course, merchandise to collect.
I will be visiting Disney World during the same week and am excited to see what's new for this celebration!

This is a great time to visit Orlando. We always go for Thanksgiving, and the week after. We will be leaving on the 3rd, just when you will be arriving. The weather is nice- we are able to swim, but our pool is heated. The crowds are low, no humidity, no threat of hurricanes, etc. You should check out the website www.touringplans.com - then look for the "Best Days" calendar. They will let you know which park to visit on each of the days. They rate the days on a scale of one to ten, based on crowd levels, number of times a ride as ridden, etc. It's a great resource!

They are in full swing for Christmas by then. You should check Disney's web site for details. One place to check out is the Grand Floridian. They decorate a tree that is about 30 feet tall - in the lobby. They also have a life size ginger bread house.
The beginning of December is one of the least crowded times to go, but the parks also close earlier.

I hope it isn't too bad, that is when I am going also!
I have read that the 2 weeks following Thanksgiving is usually less crowded, but also the best time to go because everything has the holiday decorations up. I am so excited, as I am sure you are. I just went for a week in September, but I really want to see the decorations, so we are going back again this year! (I just don't think I will spend as much money THIS time!!....yeah, right. lol)

Crowds will not be a problem. It will be cold, and can be windy. The entire month of December celebrates the holidays and all of the kingdoms are beautifully decorated for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas. The Christmas trees are breathtaking. I have a friend who cries every year at the sight. Have fun and dress in layers.

This is the lowest of the low seasons, you lucky dog! Bring a jacket and jeans as the temperature can be in the 50's (hat and cheap stretchy gloves to beat the windchill factor when riding dumbo!)

OOH! You might be there for the Christmas Parade Taping. Check with your resort--or at any Guest Relations location if you're staying off property--if you want to be a part of the filming.

The parks should not be crowded, this is an excellent time to travel.
As for park happenings, there are several websites which list what is going on. I have listed some of my favorites.
