What region do you live in? In our area, we have Bob's Discount Furniture stores and they have really inexpensive bed sets. IKEA's another place for inexpensive bedding.

If you want to save money on furniture, consider buying a futon and a futon frame (try IKEA again for this, or Target). The futon folds up in the day to be a couch or chair and unfolds into a bed at night. You get two pieces of furniture for one purchase price and it takes up less room.

You might want to visit Courts and take a look at their range. Also, IMM and the Furniture Mall at Beach Road have several bed retailers that are pretty cheap.
