What is a good way to convert a video in .avi format to .mpg, .mpeg or .wmv?

I want to upload videos onto my profile, but the stupid thing doesn't support .avi format. I have Adobe Premiere so if I can do it using that let me know please, I'm not very good at technicalities.

Ok, we'll go with .mpeg then.

open the video, click file -> save as -> under "file type" make sure it says .mpeg -> save it... done

Try MPEG. That has the best quality.
